Dr. Marcela Kahane DMD
Dr. Marcela has been practicing dentistry since 1985. She is devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long-lasting smiles. While she does all aspects of general dentistry, her real love lies in the cosmetic field. Her artistic abilities are evident in the results she achieves both with single restorations and with full mouth reconstruction cases.
When asked why she likes dentistry, Dr. Marcela has been overheard saying, “I don’t know. I just love teeth! There are so many facets to them and it’s so satisfying to take a tooth from being dull, crooked or discolored and transforming it into something of beauty. Maybe it’s the artistic side of me that comes into play but I truly love to see how changing a patient’s smile can change their life in so many other ways!” Dr. Marcela’s patients often comment that she makes going to the dentist fun with her happy, easy-going attitude!
Along with on-going general dentistry courses, Dr. Marcela has enhanced her training by attending the prestigious Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI)(of Extreme Makeover fame) to achieve a Masters in Neuromuscular Coronoplasty and Case Finishing as well as Comprehensive Aesthetic Reconstruction.
Dr Amos Kahane DMD
Dr. Amos trained at the Institute of Medicine in Timisoara, Romania graduating with his DMD in 1985. This was followed by a two year internship in Oral and Maxiofacial surgery at the Rambam Medical Center – a hospital in Israel. He then continued his studies at Yeorit Institute leaving with a certificate in oral rehabilitation(known in Canada as prosthodontics). Since coming to Canada, along with on-going general dentistry programs (including some at LVI), Dr. Amos has further enhanced his studies by doing two years of orthodontic studies with Canadian Straight Wire Orthodontics, enabling him to provide valuable support to the practice’s visiting orthodontist, Dr. James Ahmoye. Dedicated to staying on the leading edge of dental technology, Dr. Amos then went on to do a mini-residency in Implantology through the University of Miami School of Medicine. This additional expertise allows him to provide comfort to those patients who require dentures or implant dentistry.
Over the past several years Dr. Amos has participated in Community Dental Day, a volunteer program organized by the BC Dental Association. This program is dedicated to providing free dental treatment to patients in need, and to date Dr. Amos and his volunteer Certified Dental Assistants have donated in excess of $10,000.00 worth of treatment!
Together, Doctors Kahane operated a private practice in Israel for about 4 years before immigrating to Canada in 1993, ultimately landing in Fernie in the year 2000. They continue to maintain their private practice on 2nd (Victoria) Avenue in Fernie, BC each now having the liberty to focus on what they like to do best.
